Overcoming the barriers to scaling up digital innovation: real-world learning from the NHS Innovation Accelerator

Presentation and interactive Q&A with 2015 Fellow, Simon Bourne – founder of my mhealth. In this 30-minute session, Simon will share real-world learning and insight from his innovation journey, highlighting some of the challenges and barriers encountered in scaling self-management platform, myCOPD, and how these have been approached and overcome. Simon will discuss how he and his team have succeeded in digitally activating 88 CCGs via myCOPD and the Innovation and Technology Tariff (ITT).

30-minute panel session with Q&A. Featuring an NHS Commissioner, expert patient and NIA Fellow line-up, this discussion will consider how innovators and commissioners can best engage and collaborate to find digital solutions to help manage the challenges facing local populations. This includes exploring the vital role of patient involvement, drawing on real-world insight and evidence from the NIA’s year one evaluation report.
